Jdownloader can't seem to install- JAVA error?

This is one of the few pieces of software that I truly love using on a daily basis..Imagine my surprise when I tried installing on the latest PCLOS and got that no suitable JVM could be found on the system. says it must be at least 1.6-2.0, then to define INSTALL4J_JAVA_HOME to point to a suitable JVM.
Or delete the JVM cache file.

So what the deal, homeskillets? Some pesky config file giving me the runaround, or do I need to take it out back with a sledgehammer and teach this laptop what for?

do you have java installed?

They seem to have multiple downloads on the project website. I downloaded one version and tried to run it and it run just fine.

open the terminal and then run this command and give your output

java -version

where did you get the program from? if from their website, provide a direct link to the version you are trying to run

Cool, I was just assuming that PCLOS came with Java by default. All good now. THANKS!

Strange. In my installation of Jdownloader, Java was installed also without any problem. Of course it was some months ago, so something might have changed in the meantime...
