Delete Printer
« on: February 21, 2012, 07:01:49 AM »
When I go into Control Center and then Printers, it seems like i can't delete printers anymore.  There is no menu choice to do it.

I have had a lot of issues getting my printer (HP Laserjet CP1525) to work, worked fine before latest update.

The whole Printer Control page looks very different!!

Right click on the printer? Doesn't that work?

No, not there.
Weird, I setup the printer, print a test page, goes through fine.
Go to print ANY document, and it sits in the spool for about 20 minutes, then prints gibberish.

How is the printer connected [via usb, wifi..]?

Go to PCC/Hardware/Set up the printer/right click on printer icon/select properties/write down Device URI

Open Terminal, copy/paste:

Quote
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -x printer ENTER

where printer represents your printer path in use. Again PCC and add your printer. More info. here.
