Aleph, once the language pack is deactivated in Firefox, you have to go to add-ons, select languages and enable the one that's available.

This happens when Firefox's version number isn't the exact same one as the language package.

I know because I use the German pack  ;D

Thanks, but the spanish language is enable and doesn't work :(
I can solve adding this package:

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/linux-i686/xpi/

But the update has a bug...

what you show there is Extensions, go into the Languages tab, and it will only work if your system language is Spanish.

well, you still have an outdated language pack (10.0.1) installed. Close Firefox, open Synaptic, reload, and install the firefox-es_ES-10.0.2, then restart Firefox, you should be asked if you want to have the new language installed, and your answer should be yes, then restart FF and it is in Spanish, or go into the FF-Languages tab and enable the new 10.0.2.

I do updates almost every day, I did yesterday and today...

I had problems with the latest versions of FF. Something was wrong in FF. I don't know wich was exactly the issue of the problem...

On Thursday I updated and got these:

Code: [Select]
firefox (10.0.1-1pclos2012) to 10.0.1-2pclos2012
firefox-de (10.0.1-2pclos2012) to 10.0.1-3pclos2012

As you can see, the versions of Firefox and the language pack differ.

Then on Saturday both packages were updated again:

Code: [Select]
firefox (10.0.1-2pclos2012) to 10.0.2-1pclos2012
firefox-de (10.0.1-3pclos2012) to 10.0.2-1pclos2012

Now the versions match, and all is well   :D

just to clarify, the build number doesn't matter, the version must match, e.g.,  firefox-10.0.2-2. The repo should always have matching versions for FF/TB and its languages, for example the following would also be a matching version set: firefox-10.0.2-1 and firefox-de-10.0.2-5.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, pinoc!

It was just more of a rough guess on my part, since the effect seemed to point to the build number  ::)
