Try to reinstall grub from the LIVE-CD, you'll find it under More Applications>Configuration
Do you mean "redo MBR"? If so I've already done that twice.
If you mean something else, there is nothing else that indicates reinstalling grub.

I just have to ask-Since my home is on a seperate partition, does it make sense to just reinstall over my current PCLOS install (without formatting anything) to correct whatever got messed up? And if so, should I set the controller to "AHCI" prior to reinstalling?
What do you think? I don't want to lose my use of PCLOS on the old drive when I do an install to the ssd so I have somthing to fall back on if anything goes wrong. That is anything more

Actually I think your issue is not related to AHCI/Legacy settings (of course, may be I'm wrong).
