Good things come in small packages. From small minds, not so much.

Did you log out and back in after the upgrade?

I just rebooted. Then I tried logging in and out. think I have to reinstall the update and log in and out?

edit: I just looked and in lxappearance>icon theme... the only icons that show are the ones in ~/.icons

Wait for Neal to answer that one. I'm using KDE at the moment. There may be a simple config file edit that is needed.

Did you install the hi-color-icon-theme update? If that didn't fix it, check your permissions for /usr/share/icons. Should be Read and Write - Read only - Read only.

thanks Neal, in both my LXDE 2011 and 2012 install the permissions were wrong. I wish I knew how permissions changed on their own  :D
