is there an instruction manual for VB?
« on: May 16, 2013, 08:20:19 PM »
I'm having problems getting my printer to work under the new PCLinuxOS 64bit, and time is running out on some things I need to ship.

I thought that if I could load up my livecd (my printer worked fine with it) into my vb, that I access my printer through the vb and  continue to solve my printer issue and not have the stress of a deadline to ship on my back.

I've used VB before, installed xp on it, ended up with some problems and ended up installed the new pclos, so I thought it would be a piece of cake to get it running.

I'm doing something wrong, i make the vm, i put the livecd in and it comes up and say fatal, could not read from the boot medium...

i don't understand.

It seems that you are in a hurry and yet are asking about the manual.

I think that the last time I spent any time with the manual, it was between two an three hundred pages long and requires a great deal of study before you will answer most questions.

Anyway, here is where you will find it:

You could prepare the documents for printing
boot using the livecd or liveusb
print the documents
boot back into your install ... then continue to sort out the printer problem there.

it might take the pressure off .....

also, if using a LiveUSB generated by LiveUSB Creator you can select Persistence Mode, so that any changes you make to the Live system are remembered for the next time you boot in Persistence Mode.
