SOLVED skype :camera not working
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:43:47 AM »
Ok maybe there is a simple solution already posted on this but
I am too newbie and reading the posts confused me more than gave me the answer  :(
I have A dv3500 aiptec camera plugged on my pc (kde fully updated ..I think)
I installed Kamoso and camera seems to work fine in it!
I open my Skype and as soon as I plug my cam it is recognised ok

BUT test video gives just nothing!!!

what I have noticed is that  in the camera selection menu camera is recognised as "DV3500 (/dev/video0)"
I think there isn't a "video0"  folder and everything video0 is found under /sys
on the other hand "/dev/video0" is not editable
is there an easy way to start my cam???? :-\
