I have downloaded the rpm package from the squeezebox site, and it is sitting in my home/downloads folder. Problem is that I don't know what to do next.
Can you please post the name of the file that you have downloaded please?
I apologise, I thought the logitechmediaserver package was in the PCLOS repository.

Before getting into the installation, I must point out a few things ....
Before installing any software, you should update your install completely.
There are threads about this on the forum which you need to read.
Essentially it involves launching the package manager (Synaptic), Reload, Mark All Updates, and Applying them. Do this action weekly to keep your install properly updated.
The second thing to be noted is that installing software that is not available from the repository is discouraged. This is because the installed software has not been checked in PCLOS and some such software can cause problems ..... and no one will know why, so your install would be unsupportable. There are threads on this also which should be read for information purposes.
The command to be executed needs to be done from a terminal, as root .......
rpm -Uvh logitechmediaserver-7.7.0-1.noarch.rpmThe above installs the RPM I have installed here.
If you have a different RPM then the name needs to change to reflect that.
It would be best if you posted the name of the file you have before installing it, just to be sure.
