Yes, it does make good sense and I apologise for letting my enthusiasm get the better of me. In no way am I trying to "muscle in" and I know full well that I don't yet have the necessary knowledge and skills to become a packager.

I'll shut up now and get on with trying to climb a bit further up the learning curve  :)

Thanks for all your (and everyone elses) help so far, it is very much appreciated .....

Eddie,
A lack of knowledge can be fixed. ;) All you need to do is learn. :) Skill will come as you gain in knowledge. :)

No, Eddie. You can't shut up now... well maybe for this thread, yes.  But you've got to move on to other undertakings. You have done your bit with pkgutils ... do a few more (dozen  :P) updates and when you get a firm grip of how the specfile's contents are taken into the build process, Sourceforge, Gitorious, Github, Freecode, heck even Google Projects have an abundant list of projects that we have not yet packaged on PCLinuxOS ... take you pick.

Just remember, we are here to help. We do not like nonsense question. Read, research and when there is something you do not understanding after all your efforts in trying to find out answers ... you get my drift. ;)

I particularly like fun and humor ... when I am not as serious as I am like right now....

and this is possibly a good time to explain the time I mixed up my wife and her best friend ... NOT! Just like the great Neal said, HAVE FUN! We are all friends , aren't we? We are after all PCLinuxOS users.

As Andrew Lake would signout,
Peace and much respect,
Archie

Eddie,
Have fun as you learn to package. Enjoy your "early days." You will have them only once. My bet is that you can learn and develop good packaging skills. I'm usually pretty good at spotting those with this capacity. Archie is getting good at spotting it. One day he may exceed me in this skill. (I do hope so! :))

Never. The teacher will always be the teacher even when he no longer teaches. Respect.
