New Newbie
« on: February 14, 2012, 06:31:11 PM »
I am attempting to add yet another student to our fold. Does pclinux have a theme  that looks like  XP. This would greatly ease her transition to this superior operating system. I have seen it on other distros but pclinuxOS  is the way we roll.
  thanks tom

Looking at Synaptic, it seems Gnome has a 'Redmond95' theme.  You may find something at http://www.kde-look.org/

Take a look at the LXDE desktop.

I think it makes the easiest transition from XP and that is with the default theme.

Good luck.  ;) ;D ;D

Which desktop are you using?

KDE is fairly Windows-like by default, and I set up my XFCE installs to look largely the same.  I personally like to have the window buttons look fairly Windows-like, easily done in both KDE and XFCE.  Put the task bar on the bottom, use a single task bar, and the basic layout is the same.  I suppose you could even change the application launcher menu to look like a START button.

Depending on the desktop you are using then you should be able to find a theme that is visually pretty close.
