S-Video flickers
« on: January 21, 2012, 09:19:05 AM »
I tried connecting my laptop to a TV with an S-Video cable.  The laptop sees the connection and lets me configure the TV1 display.  The display appears on the TV but flickers every few seconds, almost like it loses sync for a second.  I have tried every available resolution.  The refresh rate only gives has one option, 30 Hz.  I tried this on another laptop (similar graphics module) and another TV with a different cable.  The behavior is the same.  lspci shows my graphics to be Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller.  I am running PCLinuxOS release 2011 (PCLinuxOS) for i586.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome both to the forum, but please keep to the rules and don't hijack another's post. Your problems are different, relating to different hardware, and praising other distributions will get your post deleted by a moderator.

Rich1974, I suggest you delete your post and start your own thread, and avoid naming the other distros.
