Hi everyone
I have been using CpuFreqDisplay widget on my panel for quite a long time, working well without any issues at all. It was installed through add widget>get more widget by right clickin on the panel and selecting panel settings.
A few days ago, i had a bunch of updates showing up in synaptic, which i installed. This bunch included a few Python packages. Now CpuFreqDisplay can not load, the icon shows a big red X mark. The message says no python script available .....
Could someone help please?
Thanks in advance.

Can confirm this.

I opened a VBox VM (KDE 32bit) and installed CpuFreqDisplay (from Get / Download New Widgets) and the full message is:

Unable to load the widget
Script initialization failed

Note - just installed it in a KDE 64bit Test install and it works fine.

I'm getting the same big, fat red "X" and error message:
Quote
"Unable to load the widget. Could not create a python script engine for the CpuFreqDisplay widget."

Fully updated KDE 32bit.

I don't need no steenking Windows --tuxalish

The packagers are very busy indeed at the moment Marco07 - please give them a bit of breathing space until they can get around to it.

Hello:
I am still putting up with this big red fat X in my system tray.
Is this really such an unsolvable issue that there is no solution after waiting so long?
Thanks!

The widget was created March 17th, 2009 and updated on March 19th, 2009. There have been no updates since. The widget author last visted the CpuFreqDisplay page on July 3rd, 2009. It is possible that something has changed in Python that renders his script inoperable. Have you tried contacting the author? Have you tried any of the other CPU frequency widgets available?
