Success!
« on: February 09, 2012, 03:42:15 PM »
Just wanted to let everyone know that the 'Live USB Creator' worked fine for me.  I just created a Live USB, from the 2012.02 KDE ISO, and I'm running (live) on it right now.

The KDE Partition Manager worked fine, too, after a bit of confusion - it wasn't exactly as clear as I would have liked.  But really, only one false start even there.

Now, since I used less than a gigabyte on my 4 gB stick, time to move on to adding an LXDE boot option, and maybe an XFCE as well.  Should come in handy having it all on a USB stick right in my pocket...

My congrats to whoever it was that wrote the USB Creator - great job!

Thanks Chief!

Glad it worked out well for you  ;)

Great to hear positive feedback  ;)

BTW .....  I think at one time I managed to cram 5 versions of PCLOS on a 4GB stick  :D

Great fun!  ;D  ;D

Live USB Creator is an utility that is at the center of what I'm doing now, it's incredible how a program empowers a newbie like me.

Thank you Just18

any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

I'm not even going to tell you it's a great little utility because you know it is!  ;)

So I'll just say, thank you very much, Just18.

Thanks Chief!

It's I who should be thanking you!

And let me apologize for not being able to remember your name, but gimme a break here!

I'll be 72 in a couple of months, and I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for breakfast!
