Swap GDM for E login manager?
« on: February 04, 2012, 03:06:41 PM »
I have an install of PCLinuxOS E17 and I really have this OCD-like thing about things fitting and not mixing and matching if it is avoidable. So I am wondering if there is an easy way to swap GDM with the Enlightenment login manager (I forget what it is called).

The login manager is named entrance. As far as I know, only eLive has used it. A net search will reveal a few bugs with it. Anyway, it's not in the repositories.

Darn. It just feels WRONG to use Enlightenment without using the proper login manager.

Alrighty. I heard bad things about the E login manager so I figured I would ask.

Add to this E17 is a user remaster... and also it most probably works very well, while E17 is not yet a stable desktop.

Well , "Entrance" no longer used, the new login manager is called "Elsa" like the old "Entrance" is animated..

More information:

This is not yet finished and quite unstable right now.
