This web crashes Firefox
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:46:12 AM »
Hi friends again,

I have a new bank account, and this is his webpage:

www.cajasoldirecto.es/

This web crashes Firefox when I try log in on my computer.

Why?

Any idea?

Thanks

Which version of Firefox?  Just followed your link on my (KDE desktop) Firefox 9.0.1 and no problem. No problem loading it with 10.0 Firefox either... Do you have Add Ons installed as well - if so, it may be worth disabling those (Firefox > Help > Restart with add-ons disabled...) to see if an add on is causing the issue.

Maybe it is something with the log on procedure causing the problem - in which case, as I don't have an account there, I can't replicate the problem.

Hi Aleph,

Tried a made up name and password and got -

(8001) NP16. LA CLAVE INTRODUCIDA ES ERRONEA (Código error:8001)

which I presume is an error message (sorry, my Spanish isn't too good!)

Clicked on the button to OK it and was taken to their main site, but it all seems to be working OK for me. Hopefully another LXDE user will be able to check with their system.

Did you try with other browsers?

We have Opera, Chromium, Konquerer, rekonq, just to name a few.

All that is is good. PCLinuxOS is.

Yep. Happening here, too on Firefox 10.0-1. Haven't updated yet. That page is running a javascript that freezes the browser. Had to kill the first instance of about 20 to regain control of Firefox. Tried the site in Firefox with javascript turned off. The browser doesn't freeze, but no content is shown, either.

Seems to work just fine in Rekonq, though.

It's probably optimized for InternetExplorer.... ::)

You can try Konquerer, you have it installed anyway.

I think it's your bank you need to inform, if you want to work with Firefox.

I don't know of any easy way to report this problem. If you are using KDE, try using Konqueror web browser. Otherwise, try Opera or Chrome.

Opera is also crashing,
Chromium will do, but is complaining about a very slow script.

Prime indication that the bank has problems, not the browsers.  Probably only tested on IE...
