Battery Drain
« on: February 01, 2012, 10:35:20 AM »
I have a HP G72 laptop.
I multi boot Windows 7,PCLinuxOS, and Ubuntu 11.10.If I turn off the Computer with Ubuntu or PCLinuxOS and do not use it for a few Days. The battery c
does not hold its charge as long as if I turn it off with in Windows 7.

Example : Windows 7 after three days 94% charge
                 Ubuntu or PCLinuxOS          75% charge

Why does this happen ?

The obvious answer would be that the Linux ACPM isn't turning everything off, and something's being left in standby. As it's not just a pclos problem I would Google power states and see if there's a way to turn things off more thoroughly.
