Press the Esc key to see the start-up messages. Where does it stop?

Flash PCLinuxOS ISO to an SD card. Go to BIOS and set it to boot from SD card.

Already put it on a sd card to boot from and that part is working.

Nothing happens when I push escape, its just a blank screen.

I think that PCLinuxOS will not work on your Acer. Did you try with Android? Or maybe with another distro like Arch/**untu?

Is there a particular reason why not?

This is one of tabs that's x86 (and not ARM), so I'd also think it should work if the OS contains the needed drivers...?

That's an AMD CPU aka AMD Fusion  , comparable to an Atom CPU. If you can boot, it's supported.

The OP said he can't even boot KDE. And even if he succeed there's a problem with the drivers (multitouch support, screen rotation auto-rotation or even manual rotation, virtual keyboard popup-when clicking on a textfield, page scrolling,...).

>IceDigger,

What program did you use for live SD card?

As I understood the posts, the OS booted to a log in prompt which implies to me that the graphics driver needs to be set.

That should get the OS to a desktop.

He says a black screen with no messages, if he gets to a log-in prompt it's just a question of logging in and setting the driver up with XFdrake.

Yes, I have used that same SD card to install a fresh version of Windows 7 to get rid of all the junk that came with it.
