Better to stop than to go mad  ;D ;D ;D

Of course every body will help you with next problem.
Just don't choose a usb stick again  :'(

Maurice

Thanks for hanging in so long. When I looked in your forum profile and noticed you were a 'tad' older than me  ;D I was most impressed with what you managed this round. I learnt a lot more and will keep working on this irritating problem.  I am sure you will be following Forum now and then.

I would like to find a test that will indicate that there is possible troubles if one has a suspect unit.  Now that I have an idea of what I am after I am inviting anyone who has a proven USB stick giving trouble booting let me know.  I would like to collect some hex dumps and look closer.   :D

There have been reports such as this for years now, and I have not found a definitive answer.

From reading the few different 'solutions' some people found, it appears to be related to 'some' BIOS's having difficulty .....  most 'solutions' have been to use a different USB stick  :D

Maurice, I think you long ago in this thread passed the pain/gain threshold.
No one here will consider your decision other than in that light, so no worries.  ;)

Some of us have more interest in the cause of the problem, than finding a solution (yes I mean me :D ) and this can colour our responses too, which may not be 'in the best interest' of the thread starter.

I do hope you have derived some benefit from the thread ......  even if it is more familiarity with the Live USB Creator utility, and the knowledge you CAN create a working USB stick, even if it might not work on that particular PC.

Take care .......  and back to having some fun!!!  ;D  ;D
