Request for testers of drivercleaner
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:00:40 AM »
Hi guys,

i wrote a little bash script for uninstalling unnecessary wlan, printer and gpu drivers (gpu only the propritary ati and nvidia).
So you can save a bit place on the hd and you havent to install updates for this packages.

and now i need some tester to see whether everything works well or not.

here is the link to the rpm http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53507975/drivercleaner-0.06-1ghostbunny2012.noarch.rpm it is a noarch rpm so it should work on 64bit, too.

you can install the rpm via console command
Code: [Select]
rpm -Uvh drivercleaner-0.06-1ghostbunny2012.noarch.rpm

please post bugs, errors and suggestions in this thread.

Very important do not use the script on a productive system only testing partitions or virtual box, but in virtual box it possibly uninstalls nearly everything i defined in the script.

The current version is an only cli version but i plan to add a yad interface, too.

The terminal command for launching the script is

Code: [Select]
drivercleaner

@testers: remember to not run this when you want to remaster a system  ;) (equal to production system? => more development system)
