Mr BitsIt is up to you but how do you know it does not work? A statement is not fact. Just as I can say I don't believe that it does not work. Until I have seen that driver in action or looked inside it I am open minded.
1.. You say it works in other Distros
2.. The card reveals too addresses
3.. The standard 3 parallel ports, whose addresses are no where near above
4.. parport_pc driver/module I believe looks for those standard addresses
It is likely your card never gets addressed correctly everything goes to the wrong address.
The other distros may have a slightly different way of handling this situation (get
parport_pc out of the way ??)
If you have a driver and carefully boot
parport_pc out of the way it is likely that your card may be addressed correctly. I do not remember that that was looked at in depth in previous posts. Most likely because it is some time since paralellport use has been a topic here but if you are doing CNC stuff you would.
In my opinion there is a chance fx using
blacklisting that your card will work. I admit I can be on the wrong track but until I see the facts I sticking to my opinion. I may be slow but I know where I am heading and what I don't know others do.
