good to hear it works. This fix adds IE6 into the picasa user account (~/.google/picasa/), so it is independent from installing IE6 into the system; who would want to do that anyway...

Heheheh...I certainly didn't WANT to install IE6 into the (PCLOS WINE) system, but that's what the tip said to do in the link in the first post to fix this problem using winetricks. Your mostly automated fix actually DID WORK!!! Thanks again pinoc.
