I can't find a gnome 3 (32 bit) pclos working download link
« on: January 14, 2012, 03:41:30 PM »
I'm trying a gnome 2 (precisely a 11.11.2) and i like it; i would try a gnome 3 (32 bit) one too; last year i tried gnome 3 on ubuntu, but my pc did work only with the fallback mode; i know that pclos is more light (am i wrong?) so i am curious to try the gnome 3 version, but every link i've tried it's impossible to reach. Have any of you out there a working one?  ;D

Sorry I use KDE, but PCLinuxOS Gnome forum is located at:  http://www.linuxgator.org/gnome/forum/index.php

They may be able to answer on the current status.  I think Gnome 3 is still in the building stage.

Hope this helps.

FYI some apps are not yet ported and some simply don't work in 64bit mode without a bunch of hacking. I've yet to get Google Earth working on 64bit. Wine is a major hassle as well as Adobe acrobat reader. The reason is these are primarily 32bit applications and need 32bit libraries copied into your 64bit system. Then the librarie locations needs to be exported in a startup script so the application can locate them.

Tex you can do it. Your Texstar. Around the Linux Community your known as the Packager Extraordinaire. I know that in a 64-bit environment Google Earth has a problem finding the 32-libs and Hulu can't seem to locate Adobe Flash. As someone once said “it's ready - when it's ready.”  I also know it will be worth the wait. That's easy for me to say. My packaging experience is removing a bottle of Jack Daniel's from a paper bag. :)

::) 32bit will be available, when it is available. We prefer to not add packages until they have been tested to work.

Ok, i did not hurry, i'm just asking, 'cause it was not clear (to me) IF exist or IF WILL exist a 32-bit gnome3 version. Now i know that the only existing version is the 64-bit; when the 32-bit get ready (if ever will), i'll try it out, to see if my pc works with a pclos gnome3 version...  ;D
