Thanks for the help.  I was planning on a dedicated partition for it.  No way am I going to let go of the present 32 bit install.  It just works too well.  Glad to hear about speed.

MCP

FYI some apps are not yet ported and some simply don't work in 64bit mode without a bunch of hacking. I've yet to get Google Earth working on 64bit. Wine is a major hassle as well as Adobe acrobat reader. The reason is these are primarily 32bit applications and need 32bit libraries copied into your 64bit system. Then the librarie locations needs to be exported in a startup script so the application can locate them.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Hi all!

Tried the 64-bit version. Looks great! I will wait until it is complete and switch to 64-bit then. For now I will use 32-bit with the PAE kernel.
I have tried several distros the last couple of weeks, but PCLinuxOS is the best imho.

Thanks for helping me!

Regards,

Archie

Do not worry!
My nick has got something to do with the fact that I used to run Archlinux in the past.

I usually sign with Archie or Marcel.

Do we look like we worry? Just a day's fun in the forum when stuff just like yours ... just works!

Arch, Gentoo, LFS ... they don't matter here. They are all fantabulous Linux distros in their own right ... but we have and are using one that really ... JUST WORKS! ;D
