[Solved] Shortcut to Virtual Desktop Parameters disable in LXDE mini

Hi,
     I'm on LXDE mini which had been localized in French by Melodie.  In the context menu (right click on the virtual desktops icons in the panel), there's an option to set up the virtual desktops.  However, this option seems to be disable (it appears in light gray, unable to click on it). Is there a way to enable this option?

P.S. I'm trying to do a remaster of PCLinuxOS in French based on LXDE mini to have something like PCLinuxOS LXDE full version but already in french. I'm not an experienced user and I learned a lot during the process.  This is one of the issues I wanted to fix

How many desktops are available?

You can use openbox configuration to add more virtual desktops. Or middle mouse click should work, too.

Yes I know these options, but I was only wandering why the option seems to be offered and is not usable (on my computer). Or is there something to do with not having Full LXDE?

It will be to simple    Seriously, I'm not an experienced user on Linux (one year) and I really like it and I learned a lot doing this kind of remaster.

You're using lxdecc, not PCC to do this? Try reinstalling obconf.

Yes, I'm using lxdecc and I can add, rename etc. my virtual desktops. 
I reinstall obconf in Synaptic.  It doesn't solve the "problem".
 Maybe it have something to to with the lxpanel?  I noted this evening that this is the same with the lxpanel in Openbox Educational (for my kids).

If I go in the panel parameters, in the "Panel applets" tab ("Applets du tableau de bord" in french) I notice that i can modify the menu,taskbar etc. but I can't modify the virtual desktop (pager plugin), just move it up and down.

You spelled Neil's Neill's Neal's name correct - that is all that counts.  The rest will be forgiven!   

Many of us use English as a second or third language, including me.  I haven't seen anybody complaining about it - with any user here - ever!  So type away.

As to your problem - I agree with the old bear - use LXDE full and go from there.  If you rather fiddle until you get it (and yes- I can see the benefit of that as well) - have fun.

I did a fresh install of LXDE Mini, updated and launched lxdecc. I opened obconf and was able to add and remove virtual desktops without issue.

Yes, here's what I'm talking about (I take my shot in Openbox Education, but it's the same in LXDE)


The first grey menu entry "Paramètres de «Bureaux virtuels»" should be available but it's not. Is it normal? Can I fixed it?  (It's not a big problem, mostly an interrogation)

P.S.  Is there another way than using Tinypic to show images in the forum?

That's normal, as far as I know. I get the same thing.

You can sign up here for image hosting. It's available to PCLinuxOS forum members. It's a service provided by YouCanToo, another PCLinuxOS forum member.

In LXDE, not Openbox, click the icon for lxdecc on lxpanel.     

     

This will open lxdecc. Next click the obconf icon in the lxdecc menu.     

     

This will open Openbox configuration. Click on Desktops on the left.     

     

An alternative way to open lxdecc is >>> (main) Menu > More Applications > Configuration > Configure Your LXDesktop.
