Is possible run this powersave script in PCLinuxOS?
« on: December 30, 2011, 02:02:24 AM »
Hi friends,

I have found this scrpit for powersaving.

I'd like something as Jupiter in Fuduntu for PCLinuxOS...

Is possible run the script in PCLinuxOS?

Sorry, is in spanish:

You should not install from outside sources. Doing so will cause your system to have problems, if not right away, then eventually. Also, your system will be officially unsupported after such an installation.

Alternatively -- install lxdpms and use it to turn on EnergyStar. This is a new package and may not be universally available yet.

Hi Aleph,

why you want this script?
I use no power savers here, only batti, to display my current battery status. I can't see no difference, when i was using gnome power save. It was need the same time until my battery goes low. Only thing gnome power save makes my screen brightness...

Hi friends,

Thank you, I'm not going to install the scrpit...!

I have installed PCLinusOS in 2 machines, a nettbook Acer Aspire One and an old Laptod HP Compaq nx6310. I was looking for more battery live...

I have installed Gnome power save in my PCLOS LXDE and run fine but I tried Fuduntu and the battery run about 20 minutes more with Jupiter, however I like more PCLinusOS :)

Lxdpms is not avaible in Synaptics and I don't know it.

Is good software?

How can I install lxdpms?

Should I wait to be lxdpms avaible in Synaptics...?

Sorry for my english...

Happy New Year from Spain!!!!

Yes, lxdpms is good software. It was written by Leiche for PCLinuxOS-LXDE. He does very good coding.
It sometimes takes a little time for new apps to be added to the repos.

You will need to wait for it to reach the repo you are using. It will show up in the "New in Repository" after you Reload. Give it a little time, please.

The question is...
What is running in Fuduntu, and what is running in PClinuxOS? How many Processes
