Sorry for digging up this old topic but how can one use the translations for PCLinuxOS LiveUSB Creator?

They should be automatic, I believe, if the OS locale is set to the preferred language .......  but because I only use English here I am not certain.

Regarding the French translation .....  a problem showed up on the French forum about this .....  apparently some Variable names were changed during the translation which affected the operation of the utility.

I'm using Greek locale on 2 or 3 of my installations but LiveUSB creator is showing in English in all of them...

Edit: maybe something wrong with the translated files I had submitted? If I remember correctly, I had tested them back then during the translation and everything seemed fine. Do you need me to have a look at them again?

It might be worth trying to chase down the cause if you can.

I have plans for an update to the utility in the new year so it might be helpful to know the cause so it might be prevented in the future.

I think I have found the problem: all .mo files for Greek Language can be found under the following folders:

/usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES
/usr/share/locale/el_GR/LC_MESSAGES
/usr/share/locale/el_GR.UTF-8/LC_MESSAGES

but the .mo files for LiveUSB Creator are under:

/usr/share/locale/gr/LC_MESSAGES

This folder contains only the 2 .mo files related to lusbc and nothing else.
I copied them under /usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES and run lusbc again.
Translation is fine now.

Are the .mo files for the program provided when installing it or when localizing the system?

The mo files are provided with the package install as I understand it.

So it needs to be repackaged to solve this issue. If it is too difficult to do it at the moment, keep that in mind for the next version.

One needs to reinstall the program to get the translations.
