No printer capability after re-install

I have just re-installed PCLinuxOS LXDE and now have no access to my printer.

Symptoms:
1. No auto-detect
2. No printer set-up capability in PCLinucOS Control Centre (Not listed in Manage Your Hardware and no response in Configure Printing and Scanning)
3. Print dialog boxes in document-editing applications do not contain reference to a specific printer (ie. driver)

The only software installed when I re-installed PCLinuxOS was libcups2. I have installed cups and cups-common but that has not done the trick.

Can anyone advise me, please?
