rename files

i have a problem in "PCManFM":

how can i rename many files at the same time.
i mark them - F2 and then?
is there a tool or something to manage that?
abc-01.jpg
abc-02.jpg
abc-03.jpg
abc-04.jpg
abc-05.jpg
...

i dont test is but you could try gprename from synaptic.
