shareing DVD burners over the network

Hi,
Is it possible to share a Blue Ray DVD burner over the network so that all machines can use it to write/read  to/from?

write on network?

is it a good idea?

i find more simple to buy a external drive and connect it where is required when is required, it doesn't use all the local bandwidth and makes any setup more simple

Office required Windows XP or better, so I installed PCLinuxOS :D
