Archie,
               add back the  fromusb  boot option ......  that should get rid of the hang when rebooting. It causes a different 'halt' file to be used for live sessions.

Gosh, CO ... you are indeed the Gandalf of the PCLiveOS environment! SOLVED!

Adding fromusb to the boot parameters enabled me to reboot without the error and hang, and automount my /home partition. Actually it was my mistake on my part. I had fromhdd added instead of fromusb. I was gonna take a look at it again though. ;)
