Hi Mélodie,

I checked out your link and someone made a request back in 2009 - http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2791523&group_id=156956&atid=801867.  Would it be worth adding to it or to start another request?

I think 2009 is too old. Not even sure what version pcmanfm was in use at that time... I'd say a new request.

Hi Mélodie,

I'm in the process of registering to post.  In the meantime I fell over this - 4Pane, a file manager in commander style, but with lots of features including volume, iso, samba and partition mounting.  It runs in one or two pane mode, has tabs, launches a terminal, extracts or creates archives - seems to do everything but make coffee :D.

Homepage is here - http://www.4pane.co.uk/
Download page is here - http://www.4pane.co.uk/Download.htm - complete with .rpm especially for PCLinuxOS.
Screenshot here - http://www.4pane.co.uk/images/pclinuxos/FileviewCols-PCLinux.png - single pane in PCLinuxOS.

If there was enough interest maybe it could go to package suggest, or maybe just have it checked and added to the repo.  Sounds like the hard work is already done.  The .rpm download was only 1.1mb by the way.

Hi,

PCLinuxOS    2010.2

too old. It is very likely to break your system, as Neal would say. (We updated libs, rpm chain, many important things since this date). I suggest you go post to advanced users section about it, download the sources and get help there if needed to try to install it to one of your test machines. :)

Yeah, I was curious about the 2010 bit.  Anyway, the query has been forwarded as suggested- http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,102140.0.html
Will see what comes of it.

Hi,
I suggested a query at pcman place for an additional pane, and getting help at advanced users section for you to try to install that program (not from the old rpm anyway).

+1   Looks like a good find.   Gnome Commander with the gnome-terminal
works fine on OB.  Naultilus with file-roller, a search program, a few extra
gnome dependencies,  could be a good OB package too.   All tied together.

If I remaster with only the vesa driver it saves a little bit of space, then install
an intel driver or whatever video driver after installing from the iso created then.
The gnome or other dependencies req'd above could fit on the CD sized iso then.

Everything is working quite well although I haven't put Nautilus or a printer
on my Bonsai or OB Full yet.
