[Sorted] No Printer driver message
« on: December 11, 2011, 09:43:02 AM »
I am using PCLinuxOS 2011 and have updated it regularly via Synaptic.  I have a HP Deskjet 1050 multi function device.  This works in that it prints most things and the scanner is recognised.  However when I switch the printer on I get a notification that "Printer driver is missing"  "It is not possible to install printer without driver"
How can I resolve this?

How can I resolve this?

1.Leave the printer on
or
2.Ignore the notification
or
3.Turn the notification off

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

I learned at school that I always first had to turn on all the other devices, and then the pc.... I think that's not needed at all (with Linux / anymore), but to prevent such notifications, just put your printer on...
Probably that printer has some stand-by state, so it won't raise your electricity bill too much  :)
