LXDE Menu
« on: December 08, 2011, 03:16:45 PM »
In LXDE how do I retire a menu entry? or add if needed?

xdg desktop menu uninstall/install is of some use?

I'm lost here and I don't find anything.

any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show

Other than uninstalling/installing the app/apps, for me the easy way has always been to edit the .desktop file/files in /usr/share/applications.

You might want to try lxMenuEditor. It's in the repos.

Rename any .desktop file to .desktop-bak, and it's entry in the menu will be removed.
If you need help editing any of the files, just ask. :)

Thank you Neal, I just removed the access, there are boys you can not trust when they are playing with a live usb (what is the worst thing that may happen? is a common phrase) and the password is not enough because they need it for other tasks.

No access no problems in family computers, if they want to install they will have to ask.
