ssh To Multipal Machines for Remote Backup's ?.
« on: December 04, 2011, 06:27:06 PM »
By using  @menotu  LuckyBackup Tutorial link
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,78100.0.html

I have got one test machine to be a 'backup host' to get the backup's from another remote machine over my home Lan, I followed the tutorial ok and got it to work with two machines using passwordless SSH connection.

I followed 17 & 18 on
http://www.linuxuser.co.uk/tutorials/backup-your-linux-machine-the-smart-way/4/
I set up the 'ssh key' and then sent it to the remote machine ok and as I said above it worked ok and did a backup.

My problem is that I have tried to add another remote machine to back that up and I keep getting error messages saying it does not recognise it.
I did use the same ssh key as the first remote machine. :-\

Do I need a separate ssh key setting up for each machine I add on.?.

Hi pclinmike,

you have to generate a new key for every new maschine. the key is the unique id of each maschine.

How about this?

Andy

Unable to connect, Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at andrzejl.no-ip.org:10101.

It's working fine here... Sometimes You need to refresh it once or twice.

I just checked from my mobile phone. Site was accessed no problem.

Sometimes DNS might not resolve it... but the site is there :).

yep, working here too....

Maybe using direct IP-address (don't know how long that works...)

Not working for me, In fact I have never had any of your links working from your past post I have looked at.
Also the link from your 'Avatar' does not work.

Hmmmm :| really weird...

Care to try something?

Code: [Select]
su -c "echo nameserver 208.67.222.222 > /etc/resolv.conf"
followed by root password and try accessing my site then. If You won't be able - just reboot and the changes will go away as /etc/resolv.conf is being overwritten during each reboot. If You don't want to reboot then just run:

Code: [Select]
su -c "service network restart"
followed by root's password of course this will overwrite it as well.

Regards.
