[SOLVED] Deleted files don't go to Trash in LXDE
« on: November 30, 2011, 08:28:49 PM »
Deleted files don't go to Trash in my LXDE 2011. I already reviewed a topic "Cannot send file to trash" but I didn't see my case reflected in it. I have PCManFM that does not have many options to show. I ran Nautilus from the Terminal, and I noticed that a deleted file went to Trash. What can I do with LXDE anf PCManFM? Is there a misconfiguration in my installation or that behavior is simply a limitation of PClinuxOS LXDE 2011? If the latter were the case, I think there is a bug in LXDE, because there is a message stating that a deleted file will go to Trash. I have limited knowledge of Linux and PClinusOS, so I kindly ask for step by step suggestions.Thank you for your understanding and patience.

??? I can't recreate that, unless I change the setting in PCManFM > Edit > Preferences. Check your setting to make certain that the 'Move deleted files to "trash bin" instead of erasing from disk' option is ticked.

I applied the right option using Nautilus from LXTerminal. After that, the Move deleted files to "trash bin" is working well.
What I don't understand is why I don't see in PCManFM > Edit > Preferences that setting option.

This is what I see:

Note the third option under Behavior. Do you not see this? Would you post a screenshot, please?
If you do not have all of the options shown, open Synaptic, do a reload and full upgrade and reinstall PCManFM and libfm.

Neal ManBear: you are 100% right. The option is there. I have no excuse for not noticing it. Thank you, specially for you patience and objectivity demonstrated in you posts.
