Anyone any idea how I get a USB hard drive to show up ?.
Also no WPB.(waste paper bin).

You need to install a volume management handler - qtfm does not "do" volume management like Thunar, PCManFM, Dolphin, and Nautilus.

Smaller (or more basic) file mangers usually require another app to handle voluume managment for them

in regards the "trash/wastebin) this again is somthing that (afaik) qtfm does not support (as yet)

both are good examples of application "limitations" that need to be overcome when building an iso - gives an insite to how much work is needed to get a fully working iso :)

Mel,

I boot with the spash=verbose option, or use the "plymouth-set-default-theme" command as root

I don't go changing any files manually as that can break other things later on - RAW is deconstructed from MiniMe and where as it takes a lot of deconstructing to get there, configuration-wise very little changes

I'm trying Raw-Light, (re-burn't a new disk )  ;)    Razor, Thunar, Luckybackup, Rekonq.
I'm having problems that I have no list in the menu for 'Thunar' (installed are 'Thunar',  'thunar-achive-plugin',  thunar-volmin ) do I have something not installed ?.

I can open it from a 'Terminal' but it's got 'grey' icons (not like the photo above ).

-----------------------------------------------------

A question about 'Razor'
When I install it via SPM  I have difficulty getting it as the desktop .
On the log-in screen/menu I have 10 things listed under 'session'

On 'Rekonq' there seems a lack of menu's etc.

Not too sure whats happening there, sounds like you may have missed a thunar app or dependency, part of RAW's remit (to build from near scratch) is to provide a good base to build from, it does not provide all the solutions and as it is striped down to provide this , you may need to satisfy some of the dependencies manually

This is deliberate on Razors part - as explained in the description it uses openbox by default but can use nearly any window manager.

Rekonq is a "minimal" KDE/QT4 webkit web browser, and iirc it shares certain files (like book marks) with the KDE base (btw if it did bring in kde4base as a dependency you may find that Dolphin is a better file manger to install.)

I have lacked time to mess with razor-qt although I may look at (after doing the next Iced Latte) doing a "Iced Latte  razor-qt version" ie ripping out IceWM and the majority of the GTK apps and using near QT replacements for all of them (would be an interesting project ) - the only things I can think of lacking would be a QT email client that is not KMail and a QT file manager that auto mounts (possibly Dolphin is a solution)..
