Has any one ever set up succesfully one of these Haupppauge Media Centre remote control kits for use with Kaffeine TV. I have installed and have good performance from the Hauppauge Nova-TD 500a DVB-Twin Tuner. It would be great to get this working with Kaffeine if any one can tell me where to start or some good links. Model No Of the Controller is 335. It has the windows media centre icon just below the " OK" navigation buttons. Thanks Gang.

What desktop environment are you using?

I previously set up an IR remote to work with a USB DTT stick through KDE - on a previous install.

It did not do a lot, but did open and close Kaffeine at the DTT dongle; was able to change channel and a few other small conveniences.

Truthfully, as the remote (supplied with device) required close proximity and line of sight to the device, it was not much better than using the keyboard for launching Kaffeine.

regards.

This thread details my journey and the help I received along the way ....

Gi'day Mate. Been a while. Hope U been good. Desktop setup is 2011 kde, updated regularly. The Hauppage IR Remote Reciever is about 1/2 times the size of a matchbox and mounted nice and high. Good line of sight from the bed in which i have to spend a lot of time lying on. Yes mate, still have the back and leg pain issues! No problems at all with distance and line of sight from where i use the remote to the IR Receiver. Works perfect in Windylows but wish to saty in PCLos as much as possible. Will try to find a link...........

Mine is model no 335. Did a google and here is a link to what it looks like
http://www.pacificnotebooks.com.au/store.php?specs=20754&shopref=4&utm_source=myshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Remote+Controls&utm_term=Hauppauge+MCE+Remote+Control+Kit+USB+
Could not find any thing At the Hauppauge page matching that particular no but the one in the link above looks a perfect match. I have perfect line of sight and all that jazz. I will look into your links provided tomorrow mate. Im tired out. Hope you been going ok mate. Thanks for your help and will be in touch soon i hope. Thanks and bye for now mate.  Smiley
