Is there a tutorial for installing a dual boot with Windows 7?  I'm trying to do this with PCLinuxOS 2011.9 and the install help file isn't helping much -- it doesn't seem to show the same version of the installer than the one supplied.

Yes, it's a newish HP computer that came with Win7 installed, 600 gig hard drive, AMD processor, 4GB RAM.

I have already "shrunk" the main partition (using Win7 disk management tool), leaving a 200 gig unallocated, unformatted partition into which I intend to install PCLOS.

If you have already shrunk the Win.7 then all that you should have to do is run the live CD
and click on use the Free Space on the HD.

The install process should take you through the steps to Install PCLinux.
You will need to decide how large to make the / partition ( mine is 20 gig ) this is where the OS lives.
The Swap Partition is usually equal to the amount  of RAM that is installed on your computer ( although with 4gig of ram
swap will probably never be used)
The /Home partition is where all of the user accounts will work from ( store their files )

You may want to create yet another partition for sharing files between Win and PCLOS
maybe 10Gig formatted as Fat, Fat32,NTFS ( depending on the size of files )

Running the Install Process from the live CD will format the free space on the HD - Just follow the prompts.
If you get stumped - you can cancel the process and come back here and get answers.
