PCLinuxOS - Heck Yeah !

« on: November 02, 2011, 12:11:52 AM »

After almost a year of Sinus, and chest infections my Ear, Nose and Throat specialist has said, "You need a little operation."
I have polops (?) bits of skin blocking the outlets of sinus.
Thus, sinus get infected, goes down to my lung, and infect my chest.
The waiting list is about 12 months, but I've opted to take the place of someone who cancels, so could be much sooner.
I don't drink, smoke, actually don't do any naughty things which I thought would make me healthy, but the old 'Catch 22' has me by the, uhum's.
Just an explanation why I may seem weird one day, and fine the next. Probably no one has noticed.
I'm just glad to have been through all the specialists, and found the 'cause', now being broke is a bit of a cause  Wink

francis,, the miracles of modern science are the only reason I am even alive today.

It sounds like a low risk operation to me and if it clears up your infections and improves
your life,, I say go for it if you can afford it.

Everyone gets sick dude, no matter how hard we try to prevent it.  It's good that you've found the cause and the doctors can do something to make you better, which sounds like money well spent.  Good luck with the operation.

I had a polop operation twice when I was a kid.  It's not a big deal and I believe these days you can even do it ambulant or at least go home the same day.  In my days it was a 3 day stay.

I wish you well with the op and hope your quality of life will improve.

Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts. It's just a waiting game now, seems there's a lot of people with the same problem. Surgeon is booked till Feb 2012. Could be sooner. Again thanks for the well wishes. Affects my concentration is the worst of it. Sounds like those who have had similar problem have been successful, good to get some feedback, thanks.

I just had this exact surgery about a month ago. My polops were very bad.
While it was all bit painful, I can breath again.

Good luck to ya. It will be worth it.

Best of luck, francis.  It should be a simple operation, going home the same day.

And, because you indicated your uncertainty, the correct spelling is "polyps". Wink
