No sound whatsoever

When KDE Full Monty was installed I could not get the sound to work from my USB speakers. Here's my hardware specs: BioStar N68S3B mainboard, AMD Athlon II AM3 processor, Chipset NVIDIA GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a, 4 gb DDR3 1333 RAM, 500 Seagate barracuda HD. If some one could explain it to me in simple (assume you're talking to some one who knows absolutely not much about computers-cause you are.) I do not know about Home files or anything else. I would deeply appreciate it. I really like this distro but do not have to remove it and place in a VirtualMachine. THANKS so much for your time and consideration.

I had sorta the same problem after trying pulse audio, with different Hardware, but fixed it by running "alsaconf" from root.
It showed I had 3 different sound "cards" (or whatever) the one it was using was dead air, moved it down one and and let it config and rebooted and
Bingo
, I had sound again.

If at first you DO succeed, try not to look astonished.
