Hello all,

Looking for some insight as to what may be happening that's preventing me from printing on my HP Deskjet D1560.  This printer was working previously but upon attempting to print an image for my wife from her laptop (and tried from mine) I pretty much get no response and it doesn't print anything.  I looked through some log files and found the following entries in syslog that look to be related but dont really have any idea where to start to correct the issue.

Code:
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: do_add()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: add /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1:1.0
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: read_usb_uri_map()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: device_id_from_devpath()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: parent devpath is /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: Device vendor/product is 03F0:1D04
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: failed to claim interface
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: invalid or missing IEEE 1284 Device ID
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: main()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: do_add()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: add /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1:1.0/usb/lp0
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: read_usb_uri_map()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: device_id_from_devpath()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: parent devpath is /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: parse_device_id()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: MFG:HP MDL:Deskjet D1500 series SERN:VN8AH4129Q058V serial:VN8AH4129Q058V
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: CheckAndInstallDrivers()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: CheckInstalledDrivers()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: MissingDriver()
Oct 26 15:16:46 localhost udev-configure-printer: FAIL HERE

any help would be greatly appreciated.

After reading some other users' posts, I've re-installed cups and removed/re-added my printer and everything seems to be working again.  Kinda strange.  The issue was being able to print via samba on my windows machines (2 laptops, 1 desktop).  Test pages printed fine from the pclos box the entire time. If anyone has an explanation as to why this occurred I'd greatly appreciate it.
