No system sound. - Solved

Hi, I've just installed pclininuxos (2011.09 kde), and have bee very impressed.
But I am having serious problems getting sound, either from my onboard suond card or an external usb soundcard (a Behringer UCA200).

I have checked kmix and all sliders are fully up. I have run alsaconf and went through the recommended settings for the M/B sound card (intel corp AC'97 Audio) but no luck.

Regarding the usb sound card, in kmix it is recognized only as usb audio codec and has only one slider, labeled PCM.
lsusb recognizes it as:

So in short i need help getting either or both options working.

Welcome to PCLinuxOS, Hope you enjoy your stay.

When you checked kmix were all the sliders visible (i.e. did you check the kmix menu at settings > configure channel)?

secondly does the sound work from the Live CD?

Thanks for the reply. My sound is now fixed, it was nothing to do with pclinuxos actually.
I'd wrongly configured the motherboard jumpers, serves me right for not reading the manual.
