I have PCLOS 2011 installed. Now my trusted old Hitachi CRT died, after 17 years of service, RIP.

My new ACER flat panel monitor doesn't recognize the display resolution used with the CRT, something like 1152x800, ?? Hz, I don't remember. The boot GUI is OK, I can select "Start PCLOS" (then I get WRONG INPUT from the monitor) or "Start PCLOS safe mode" this leaves me with command line. This is the only monitor I have now.

How can I change the resolution from command line mode? I'm just a newbie without my familiar KDE...

17 years for a monitor is good going.

Try typing PCC for the control centre and see if that works.

There is a command to configure the monitor but I cannot remember it (draxconf).

No worries, easy fix when you know the command. Flat panel will be 60HZ whereas the CRT say 75HZ, hence the complaint

Someone will post the usual command here

YES !

On the command line safe mode,  I just typed pcc and a text mode PCLOS Control Center woke up. Setting up a new monitor was a breeze, and a quick reboot followed. Probably this is in FAQ somewhere, I didn't remember.

Now I'm typing happily on my new shining 23 inch screen showing PCLOS better than ever. Still, I miss my trusty old Hitachi...  Cry

THANKS!
