I need HELP PLEASE WITH OVER SCAN on my KDE PC LInnux OS

Hello Folks,
I have run into a strange problem with my PC Linux Computer. All of a sudden I have large text and icons on the screen. I notice on start up that the loading data is also over shooting the sides of the screen by around 10%. The system is working well and I am using it. But I have to use scroll bars to see all the text. The monitor I am using is a View sonic 20 inch aspect ratio 4.3 and I have re-calibrated it. I have been to my graphic card settings and I am on 1024x768. Can't go any higher. In Windows one can set a higher setting and resolve the problem. The tool bar on the bottom is 3/4 of an inch high instead of 1/2.I tried another monitor and the results are the same. I have downloaded a new version of PC Linux and done a complete re-install, twice but the results are the same. I tried another distro with the same results. I am guessing but perhaps there is an error in the bias. The background PC Linux graphic is in perfect proportions. Could someone help me with this please.
thanks

You haven't said
what
graphics card you are using or what screen resolution you expect to see. You also have not said what version of PCLinuxOS you have installed and whether or not you have tried to install other video drivers for said graphics card. The more specific information you give up front, the less time people will need to spend asking you questions, and the less time you will have to wait for a solution.

mignet,
First try this. Open PCLinuxOS Control Center. In the left panel, click on Hardware. In the right panel, click on Configure Video Card. First, click the second button, the Monitor. Choose
Plug'n Play
. Once chosen, your monitor brand and version should be showing. Next, click the top button, Graphic Card. The default driver selected and highlighted should be an nVidia driver. Don't mess with the screen resolution yet. If you changed the video driver from what it was before, reboot. If the video driver is still the same, just logout and log back in. Then, open PCLinuxOS Control Center again, click the Resolution button, and pick your resolution. Logout and back in.

Hello DJ and folks,
I followed through your steps twice but no go.I figure it's a driver problem. I had a rat bag idea I though might work and it did.I decided to load the latest ditro from Germany Linux Mint. I figured the Germans may have the right driver in this distro. When it loaded up the monitor was 100% configured. I then un-installed Linux Mint and loaded PC Linux and hay presto it was fixed. I looking up the graphic set up in hardware it stated the monitor was a VG 2021M The res.,is set at 1400x1050 24bpp. For the experts like you folk , would it have been a case of installing a new driver. I am sure that can be done in KDE.Be interested in the details on how it's done, not that I would try it.
