I don't know exactly when it happened but my laptop resumes from a snooze now!!

I use a Compaq Presario C700 laptop that I like to put to sleep but when running PCLOS it would only wake up once and then lock up on the second wake-up call.

All flavors of Linux distro's pretty much did the same thing and I was resigned to the fact that it was hopeless. 
I recently re-installed the "Full Monty" 2011 version, did the updates and lo & behold IT WORKS!!!

I've held off popping the champagne corks for a week to be sure, que up the alleluia chorus! 
I hope subsequent updates don't "fix" it any further.

I noticed some recent ACPI updates have fixed some power management problems I was having on 2 identical laptops; *reference: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,94839.0.html. 

The latest stable acpid must be playing nice with our machines
