hi there I treated myself to a brand new keyboard today . However when I plugged it in I could not use any F1 F2 F3 change the boot menu even pressing enter did not speed up the default boot.I did lsusb &cat /proc/bus/usb/devices which tells me usbhid drivers installed.I orignally bought a wireless keyboard & mouse to use until Sean put XP on my another distro install.Any way up until today I Thought it was a problem that wireless keyboards would not work until the desktop had fully loaded .but looking today that the reception light is flashing on top of the receiver but again nothing happens .This is a Mikomi WUR1081T lsusb says it is chicony electonics ltd . Iam not worried about using it just the new Logitech K120 .My original keyboard was. I hope an old and knackered no name but its got aPS2 connector Any help or hints PS Ive got a fully updated  system Names have been changed etc etc

Could the BIOS be looking for the ps2 KB?

Did you put batteries in the keyboard?
Does the keyboard have a little button you push so it can sync to the wireless do-dad?
Did you plug the little do-dad into the usb port that transmits/receives data to/from the keyboard?
Do you have usb perpherials enabled in the bios on your computer?

I just bought a Logichteck K750 last month and didn't have to do anything but plug the little do-dad in to the usb port.

P.S. was informed the do-dad is actually called the Unifying receiver. lol

Have you tried getting into the BIOS with your old keyboard and doing any "possible" changes and then booting with the new kb?
