2. WiFi card SOLVED: 1st Broadcon in synaptic, + madwifi, restart and run setup BIOS, allow switch LAN/WLAN... Reboot and everything is OK...
3. If translfluency allowed, in 5 - 6 windows crashed...

Try adding
Code:
nomodeset acpi_backlight=vendor
to your kernel options in menu.lst

Quote from: djohnston modified
su -
cd /boot/grub
cp menu.lst menu.lst.backup
kwrite menu.lst

Find the line beginning with "kernel". The line below is an example.

kernel (hd0,1)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=linux root=LABEL=PCLOS quiet acpi=on resume=LABEL=SWAP splash=silent vga=792

Add nomodeset acpi_backlight=vendor to the end of the line so that it reads:

kernel (hd0,1)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=linux root=LABEL=PCLOS quiet acpi=on resume=LABEL=SWAP splash=silent vga=792 nomodeset acpi_backlight=vendor

Save the file and reboot.

If no joy remove that line and try acpi_backlight=Linux

Sorry to hear that.  Remove the options line you added if you think its causing additional issues.  Just curious, if you enter your Bios utilities screen does brightness keys work there?  Does brightness keys work during Grub boot screen?

Not working in BIOS and Grub menu... Sad

I searching for week, and I found only one post about Kubuntu users - bug, and no solutions... Huh Sad

Also setting a brightness applet into your panel is a no go? Yeah, I keep seeing this bug being reported at multiple forums. It may be a matter of waiting for the Linux 3.0 kernel to be available for install.  If I come across anything new I'll be sure to post here.
