Hope someone can help, new PC built from ground up, I7 960 on x58 chip set with 8g DDR3 mem, Radeon HD 6670 graphics card and 2 Tb hd. Live CD boots, shows splash screen with progress bar. The bar goes all the way across then sits nothing happens after, any ideas what could be preventing boot/causing the lockup?

Hi af_murph - welcome to the forum, lovely to have you with us.

You could do an md5sum and/or media check to make sure the ISO download was good and the CD was burned successfully.

I tried running the live CD using a different menu option and received the error:

Error: No suitable media for the live CD content found.
Workaround: Copy the content of the live CD from your boot device to an IDE/Sata disk.
Dropping you to a limited shell.

tried looking up boot option codes based on forum post, trying edd=off and livecd_sata_probe with no luck...yet!

Knowing the community is watching this post is much appreciated!

most common cause's of that error is either a bad burn or a corrupted download - check the md5sum of the download and then reburn the iso image

do you think the error could be caused by using SATA 3.0 and 6 GPS hard drive?

it sounds like a bad burn still ... but if the disk is ok on your other machines it may be some hardware issue ... i am not really familiar with sata3 issues ... your gonna have to hold on till one of the Guru's pulls up a chair Wink
