Yeah so I came back for a few. I want to try E-17 and I hear you guys have one of the best implementations, However it appears a new ISO has not been released so I was wondering where I can download the old ISO?

There are no more old isos because they are too old to update without crashing the desktop. Updated isos created by a community member are currently on a server in the backseat of a car being transferred from Oregon to Alabama.

Try again later please.

Bobby, the ISOs are available at http://csolisphotography.com/iso/  The server is back up and running now.  There is a server iso, a barebones iso (no apps provided, but you can update and download any from the repositories that suit your individual needs) and Summer Fairy (my own preferred apps).  There are also plenty of themes available in the repositories for you to choose from other than what is provided.  I have one of these releases running on all three servers, and my laptop.  I will be releasing a new barebones for laptops (using and older kernel which helps battery issues) in the next week.

Enjoy!

That should be ... interesting, given this post.  I believe it was Hootiegibbon that told me in IRC a couple of days ago that all kernels prior to 2.6.37 would be unsupported within a week.

edit:  While I understand that support gets dropped, esp. in a rolling release distro, that's still something of a shame.  I'd love to have PCLOS running e17 with a power-saving kernel on my lappy.  I guess it'll just have to wait for kernel 3.1

I am rolling the ISO as I type on another machine with kernel 2.6.32.24.  The kernel still exists in the repository.  It may be that no new patches will be provided for that particular kernel, however it still works outstandingly well with all of the current apps in the repositories.  Video drivers are provided by the dkms packages so video will be updated as new packages come out.  What other support would you be looking for?

P.S.  I'll keep using older kernels on my machines as long as they function with my hardware.  Many of the newer kernels have some issues that don't work with my hardware, so at least I have the option of not using them.  Wink
