I have a Epson Perfection V350 flatbed scanner that I use infrequently which is no longer being recognized by PCLOS.  In May I experienced similar problems after an update but finally got it working again.  Last week I tried using it and it was not recognized.  All of the drivers were configured properly from Synaptic as well as sane backends.  Nothing had been removed or changed since I use the scanner the last time.  After numerous attempts at manually installing Epson drivers and other needed files as well as reinstalling from Synaptic I got it working again.  My pc has not been turned off since the last time I used this scanner yet today when I tried to use the scanner (XSane was never closed) XSane was locked up.  I restarted XSane and it wouldn't recognize the scanner, again.  PCLOS "sees" the Epson scanner but cannot configure it as the model isn't in the database.  What could have gone wrong and what can I do now to configure the scanner once again so that it can be used?

I'm running a AMD dual core 64 bit cpu with 4GB ram and 2 WD 500GB hard drives.  My configuration is up to date and I'm using KDE.

Thanks.

I finally succeeded in getting it working again by manually installing iscan-data-1.9.0-1.noarch.rpm which is not in the repository.  Right now I'm just happy to have my scanner working again but am puzzled why it stopped working since last Friday.  Oh well, I guess I should simply be happy it's working again.
